Candid.org | What is a Platinum Seal of Transparency?

The Platinum Seal of Transparency is the highest level of recognition awarded by Candid (formerly GuideStar), the nation's largest database on non-profit organizations. It is earned by fewer than 1% of non-profits nationwide.

To achieve Platinum status, an organization must complete all lower tier requirements (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) and publicly publish:

  • Strategic Goals & Priorities: Clearly stated long-term goals and how the non-profit plans to achieve them.

  • Measurable Impact Metrics: Quantitative, year-over-year data showing actual results (e.g., people served, dollars distributed, or programmatic milestones achieved).

  • Board & Leadership Demographics: Aggregated identity and representation metrics for organizational leadership.
